Shipping all across Ontario and now with a recent expansion in Alberta and British Columbia, truLOCAL’s goal is to be a game changer in a relatively slow-moving industry Job Description: truLOCAL is looking for a permanent General Accountant to provide financial, accounting services and support our leadership team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, meet deadlines and make suggestions as required. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The roles and responsibilities of the Accountant include, but are not limited to: Daily Operations · Manage accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, check runs and wire transfer process, to ensure timely collection from customers and payment to suppliers. · Monthly HST/GST tax filings · Process incoming/outgoing mail · Weekly bank and credit card reconciliation · Resolve any invoice discrepancies · Prepare and present financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends on an as needed basis by management · Provide financial details/ support for auditing purposes · Maintain historical records by filing documents in a systematic manner · Support Operations with budget and cash forecasting activities · Reconcile monthly inventory count · Record and upload weekly employee expense reports · Assist with WSIB/WCB payments · Work with senior management to identify and implement efficiencies and cost savings · Assist with tax preparation for year end · Improve overall company systems and procedures, including implementing new software as required. · Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed · Other financial duties, as required QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: · 4-5 years of proven Accounting experience · Professional Accounting designation an asset (such as CPA, CA;CPA,CGA;CPA, CMA) · High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts · Experience with Xero software is considered an asset · Strong analytical and accounting skills · Excellent understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable · Ability to calculate and manage accounting figures and financial records · Proficient with MS Office with large focus on Excel spreadsheets · Experience in data entry · Must be available to work in-house in Kitchener office Benefits: Vacation & paid time off Casual dress Company events & social hours Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year Experience: Accounting: 4 years (Preferred) Licence: CPA (Preferred)
